Davey's Mid-Summer Update

Sisak Mission Trip

In June, we went to Sisak, a town 1.5 hours away and met up with an American short-term team. This team was led by a Pioneer missionary family who worked closely with our team for years and continues to come back yearly for this trip. They brought 13 people from 3 different churches, and with our team there was a total of 21 people. We had a full schedule filled with VBS-style clubs in 2 different Roma villages. Wesley was one of the leaders for games and activities within the clubs, which he loved! I, Rebekah, unexpectedly took over the role of team cook.

I prepared lunch and dinner daily for the team while they worked hard at ministry. I really enjoyed this role, but I will admit that I came home completely exhausted! Reese and Beau both had a blast with their “new friends”. The kids and I all ended up getting sick, but thankfully not until the very end of the trip! Taking a family with 2 little ones on a jam-packed trip was fun, exhausting, and downright hard. We pray the Roma kids had open ears while the gospel was being shared many, many times.
